Rio Bec Dreams is easy to get to. We are on the north side of Highway 186 between Escarcega and Chetumal. We are at km 141 although there is no sign for that number – just for 140 and 142 – but we do have our own paraderas (bus stop shelters) on both sides of the highway. Our main distinction is our 3 flags, of Mexico, Canada and England. Many locals refer to us as “Hotel Tres Banderas.”

From The East (Bacalar/Chetumal)
For those without GPS, we are about 12 km west of Xpujil. If you are coming from the east, Chetumal, drive through the Quintana Roo/Campeche border, then through the largish town of Xpujil. Once past Xpujil, you will drive through tiny Becan and Chicanna. You will see us in the large flat area on your right, with our sign, flags and bus stop. Everything is lit up at night.
From The West (Escarcega/Campeche)
If you are coming from the west (maybe from Palenque or Campeche City), drive through the junction city of of Escarcega, then take the highway marked for Chetumal/Cancun. You will drive past the entrance to Calakmul (at Conhuas), then through some very small villages – no topes here. The last pueblo is called El Rosario (if the sign is still up) but just watch the kilometer signs and if it’s night, look for the only big set of lights by the highway, lighting our bus stops and flags. If you reach the Chicanna, you have gone just 2 km too far.
By Bus
If you are coming by ADO bus, you will need to take a taxi from Xpujil. If you are on a SUR second class bus, they can let you off right at the door: just check for the flags to make sure he has dropped you in the right place.
